The Big Match Christmas show, filmed at Whittington Hospital Childrens Ward, in September or October of 1970 and televised Boxing Day of the same year. Brian Moore was London Weekend Television´s “The Big Match” Christmas show´s presenter and stared Jimmy Hill. Both well-known TV presenters at that time.

The Big Match Christmas show was one hour long and included highlights from two football match´s. Special guest stars on the show included Alan Mullery from Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs), George Graham from Arsenal (The Gunners) and Geoff Hurst from West Ham (The Hammers/The Irons). This is a short extract from the show. Interestingly, the title and introduction to the show is in colour as too the football match´s. The rest of the program was in black and white.
Alan Mullery
Alan Mullery played for Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) between 1964 and 1972. Appearing in total 312 games for Spurs, scoring 25 goals for the team. He appeared in total 35 games for England (1964-1971), scoring 1 goal at the 1970 World Cup.
George Graham
George Graham played for Arsenal between 1966 and 1972. Appearing in total 227 games for Arsenal, scoring 60 goals for them. He appeared in total 12 games for Scotland (1971-1973), scoring 3 goals.
Geoff Hurst
Geoff Hurst played for West Ham between 1966 and 1972. Appearing in total 411 games for West Ham, scoring 180 goals for them. For England, he appeared in total 49 games (1958-1972), scoring 24 goals. And at the 1966 World Cup final, George scored a hat-trick, becoming the first man to do that for a winning team. England recorded a 4-2 victory over West Germany at Wembley Stadium in 1966.
